Joyce Miller Obituary
JOYCE MILLER "Don't worry, don't hurry. You're only here for a short visit, so don't forget to stop and smell the roses." (Walter Hagen) After a long battle with emphysema, Joyce Alice Miller passed away on December 31, 2017. Wife, Mom, Auntie, Grandma, Great Grandma, and life-long friend... She was all of these to those who shared her last days with her. But none of them capture what she brought to all of us who have loved her deeply. On the surface Joyce was a fiery, strong woman, full of attitude and conviction, but in truth she was a softy with a heart of gold. Family was her love in life... From her parents and siblings, to her husband, and to her kids, nieces/nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, Joyce loved us all. Unconditionally and with pride. She loved flowers and gardening and cards and a good argument when she had the breath for it. She was one of a kind and her passing has left a big hole in our hearts and a void in the world. Even at 85 years, her short visit was simply not enough! She is survived by her husband, Glen Miller; her daughters, Alys Peck and Jo Stultz; her sons, Mike Goggia and Danny Goggia; and three generations of grand-children. Joyce's ashes will be interred with her mother and father in a private service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a letter of gratitude and appreciation to the Medical Unit of Feather River Hospital for the care and respect they extended to Joyce and her family in her final days.
