Jeffrey Allan Einhorn Sr.(1953 - 2018)

Jeffrey Allan Einhorn, Sr., died July 30, 2018 at the age of 65 after suffering a sudden, massive heart attack. He was born May 10, 1953 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Irving and Marion Einhorn, moving to Utah his sophomore year in high school. Jeff met the love of his life, Kathy, in a Shakespeare class at Skyline High, and he often joked that she was the only reason he passed the class. He was truly a jack of many trades, having worked for several hotels and golf courses, and most recently was the Outside Supervisor at the Jeremy Ranch Golf Club. Jeff proudly served in the US Army for nine years in Bamberg, Germany and Ft. Benning, Georgia, and was part of the 3rd Infantry battalion during Desert Storm. After leaving the military, he earned both a Bachelors and a Masters degree from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. He was the director of Columbia College's campus at Guantanamo, Bay, Cuba, and loved the camaraderie of working with military members during those years. Jeff loved the Boy Scouts, and earned both an Eagle and a Silver Beaver, and was most proud of the young men he worked with as they pursued their Eagle badges both in Guantanamo and in Park City. He was a wickedly good pinochle player, a passionate golfer, and a lover of all things connected to his family. His last weekend was spent celebrating his 46th wedding anniversary at the Utah Shakespeare festival in Cedar City, Utah and having a lively discussion with his wife around the play, Othello.

In addition to his wife, Jeff is survived by his son, Jeffrey Jr. (Kimber), his daughter Jennifer Zachry (Allen), brother Eric, brother Stan (Cynthia), brother-in-law, Matthew Michaels, brother-in-law, Mark Richards, stepmother, Margaret Grunnet and his 3 beautiful granddaughters-Zoe and Leah Zachry and Ripley Einhorn. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who will never forget his stories (having heard them many times!), his sense of humor, his generosity, and his beautiful smile. Jeff was preceded in death by his mother and father and his beloved sister, Franne.

The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to Jake Hanley and the staff of the Jeremy Ranch Golf Club, Park City EMT's, and the University of Utah emergency surgical staff for their care of Jeff at the end of his life. Jeff was a member of Temple Har Shalom in Park City, and Rabbi David Levinsky will lead the funeral service Thursday, August 2 at 11:00 am at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Gardens, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeff's name to the .
