Mary Carruthers (Haslehurst) passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Saturday March 6, 2021. Age 79 years. Daughter of the late Tom & Bernice (Haskim) Haslehurst. Loving wife of the late James E. Carruthers (2016) 40 yr. employee of CNR. Beloved mother of Sandra Doherty (Dave), Kevin Carruthers (Robyn Heatherington), and Joanne Kempton (Mark Speller). She is survived by her grandsons: Mike Doherty (Courtney Cousineau-Martin), Tyler Doherty (Sophia Agnello), Justin Carruthers, Zachery Kempton and granddaughter Zoe Kempton. Sister of the late Royce Haslehurst survived by his wife Alberta (Johnson), the late Ted Haslehurst and Mary (Wagg) of Vancouver Island, the late Donald Haslehurst, survived by his wife Colleen (Larmondin), Joan MacLean and Bruce, Jackie Sayer and John. Also survived by her many nieces and nephews and their families. Mom said most of her lifelong friends were made by attending diet meetings over the years, playing bingo, or travelling to Rama Casino on the bus. Her friends at Beaucrest Senior Housing & Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary were a great comfort to her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Honsinger, Dr. Davis and the Nurses in Palliative Care for the excellent care our mother received.
