Matthew Sepulveda

Matthew Sepulveda, 20, loved son, brother, and grandson passed away on July 27, 2013. Matthew was born on May 9th, 1993 to Flo and Rosie Sepulveda in Pasadena, TX.

He was a gentle and kind hearted person who, although 20 years old, was still a kid at heart. He enjoyed watching scary movies with his mom, fishing, golf, and his video games. Matthew had earned the highest honor in scouting when he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and he remained very active with outdoor activities.

He cherished his San Antonio roots and enjoyed spending time with family and friends in the city where his parents grew up. When he went away to school, his choice quickly narrowed to a San Antonio area school. He was an avid Spurs fan and a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan.

He was a 2011 graduate of Pasadena Memorial High School. He was continuing his education at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He was entering his junior year of studies and was beginning to make career plans with the Criminal Justice degree he was going to earn.

He is survived by his parents, Flo and Rosie Sepulveda, his brother Michael Sepulveda, grandparents Joe & Vangie Jimenez and Florencio & Dora Sepulveda, aunts Norma Arispe and Imelda Villareal, and also by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his cousin Daniel Badillo Jr.

A visitation/viewing was held at Rosewood Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Chapel services were scheduled for 12 pm, Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the same location.

A church service followed by a burial was held in San Antonio, TX on Friday, August 2, 2013. Mass began at 8:30am at St. Leonard's Catholic Church at 8510 S Zarzamora, San Antonio, TX 78224 and was followed by a procession and burial at the San Fernando Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family has requested that donation be made to Boy Scout Troop 388 so that others who share Matthew's love of the outdoors might have an opportunity to explore those activities in Scouting. The donations may be made out to Troop 388 (Matthew Sepulveda Memorial Scout Scholarship) and sent to care of Patsy Boodhoo, 3627 Sunshine Lane, Pasadena, Texas 77505.

Matthew may be gone, but he will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts.
