Eugene Baldridge Obituary
Aug. 18, 1928 - Jan. 23, 2019 Eugene Tyman Baldridge, Jr. was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming on August 18, 1928. He earned his B.S. degree at the University of Wyoming before serving in the U.S. Army in 1952-53 where he was assigned to a base hospital. It was this experience that influenced his decision to pursue a career in medicine. He completed his medical degree at the University of Colorado Medical School and his fellowship in gastroenterology at U.S.C. Eugene joined Lincoln Wilson, M.D. and Glenn Barnum, M.D. in 1963 in the practice of internal medicine. Later David Cantor, M.D. joined him in the practice of gastroenterology. The name of the group practice today is the Alliance of Digestive Diseases. Dr. Baldridge served as president of the staff at Huntington Hospital in 1984. He enjoyed the arts, especially music and theater and after retirement spent many hours playing the clarinet. His favorite sport was basketball which he, his mother, son and grandson all played in high school. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Liz, and their children: Kimberley, Shelley B. Gould (Robert) and Brad Baldridge, (Roya) and grandsons, Jackson Gould and Bryce Baldridge as well as his brother, Robert. For those who wish to remember Dr. Baldridge, the family suggests a contribution be made to Huntington Hospital, 100 Congress, Office of the Philanthropy, Pasadena, California 91105. There will be a family memorial service. Please sign the guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/pasadenastarnews.
