Fran was a member of the Lawler family, with her father and several uncles prominent in the medical profession. Fran graduated from Mt. Mary College in Milwaukee, and she and Bob relocated to Southern California shortly after their wedding in 1957, building their life together in the city of Alhambra.

Fran taught kindergarten at Martha Baldwin School in Alhambra for over 30 years, and loved seeing her past students wherever she happened to travel. She was also a longtime member of St. Therese Catholic Church and participated in many capacities including Eucharistic Minister, member of the Parish Council and substitute teacher. She also held various positions in American Association of University Woman and in the American Legion and Girls State Program.

Fran's sunny personality touched innumerable people, and she leaves behind so many close friends, teaching associates, tap dancing buddies and fellow volunteers from her many philanthropic groups.

Her greatest joy came from her family.
