It is with great sorrow that the Haffner family announces the passing of Rosemary Haffner on September 13, 2013.

Born in 1925 in Pittsburg, Kansas she graduated from The Pittsburg High School in 1942, where she was school queen. She graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1945.

Early in her professional career she was a freelance artist for the Kansas City Star News. She married Ralph Emmet Haffner in 1947 living on their ranch in Paola, Kansas while Ralph served as a pilot for Trans World Airlines.
In Pasadena she was a freelance artist for Port-O-Call and other department stores in the area. Rotey also owned and operated a high fashion shop, Rotey's Boutique, on Walnut Street. She traveled the world searching for high fashion items to offer to her clients. She was active in the Pasadena Tennis Patrons Association and the City Of Hope. She was also instrumental in the formation of the Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena and the recipient of many community awards for her service in the community. She remained active until she was felled by a stroke in 1999.

Rotey is survived by three children: Cydney Haffner, of Fallbrook,CA; Lisa Williams of South Bend, IN and Craig Haffner of Fishers,IN. She has four grandchildren: Sara
Williams, of Dallas, TX and South Bend, IN; Lauren Haffner Giesbrecht of Vancouver Island, BC; Erin Haffner Ladley of Carmel,IN and Alexandra Haffner of Fallbrook,CA. The family gratefully acknowledges the services of Rotey's faithful caregivers Virginia Alcaraz and Elvia Baragan.

Following a private family service on 9-20-13, Rosemary's internment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena, CA. The family requests no floral Bouquets. Memorial Contributions may be made to Innovative Hospice Care of Covina.
