Sept. 21, 1924 - Aug. 9, 2018Jeannette Selph Tuttle died on Aug. 9, 2018 in La Verne, CA. She lived a life with more joy than sorrow, more laughs than tears, and full of love for God, family and friends. Jeannette was an avid reader, loved jigsaw puzzles, and did a daily crossword puzzle in ink. Jeannette was known for her artist creativity, intelligence, quick wit, and as an enthusiastic UCLA football fan, often coaching from her chair.Jeannette was born on Sept. 21, 1924 to Lois Dorn Selph and Raymond Gwinn Selph. Her early childhood was spent mostly in Pasadena, CA where she attended school and enjoyed a close relationship with family and friends. After her high school graduation, Jeannette attended UCLA as an architect major and member of the Kappa Delta sorority. Jeannette married seaman Donald Stewart Tuttle of Kansas City, MO in 1945 and gave birth to the first of three children in 1950. The Tuttle family moved to Arcadia, CA in 1961 where Jeannette was an active member the Church of the Transfiguration for 57 years.Jeannette is survived by her older sister Barbara, son Terry (Trista Spellman), daughter Donna (Jim Lavin). She leaves 5 grandchildren including Kimberley Lavin, Katie Lavin, and Karsten Tuttle, and 2 great grandchildren. The love, traditions, and lessons given and taught us by Jeannette-Mom-Grammy will always remain in our hearts.Services will be held at the Church of the Transfiguration on Sept. 8 at 10:00am followed by a reception in the parish hall. Jeannette will be interned at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
