patricia brecha Obituary
BRECHA, Patricia Jean

Patricia Jean Brecha passed away peacefully in her home with family members on January 25th, 2018, two months shy of age 99. Pat (born Anderson), or Patty to many of her friends, spent most of her life in Altadena and Pasadena. Born March 17th, 1919 in Sandpoint, Idaho, Pat graduated from the University of Idaho at Moscow, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. After graduation, she worked briefly as a teacher in Idaho, and she then moved in June 1942 to Pasadena with her sister Virginia (Anderson) Stuiber. Pat found work at Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, California, where she met her future husband Walter. They married in May 1947, and had four children, Nick, Joe, Mary and Jane. Pat worked at the Pasadena Unified School District from 1968 until she retired, and afterwards she traveled in the United States, and to Europe and Asia.

Pat is survived by her children Nick, Joe and Jane, daughter-in-law Catia, granddaughters Corrin, Eileen and Federica, and great-grandson Joaquin. Pat lived a full life and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, playing bridge, gardening, and swimming; she loved cats, good food and the opera. Pat was always curious about the world around her and was generous with those she met and befriended. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who are thankful for the many wonderful times they shared together over many years.

A remembrance for her life will be held at her home at 1810 North Craig Ave, Altadena, California on February 5th, 2018 from 3:00-5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat's memory should be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles, 5777 West Century Blvd #820, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
