R. Bigley Louise Obituary
Louise R. Bigley
August 10, 1926 - March 5, 2018

Louise passed away peacefully on March 5, 2018 at age 91, surrounded by her loving family. A dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was born on August 10, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended the College of Fine Arts at the Carnegie Institute of Technology, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Pictorial Design in 1948. Louise met John L. Bigley while at Carnegie Tech and they were married September 29, 1951. They moved to Arcadia, California in 1958, where they raised their family.
Louise is survived by her husband of 66 years, John L. Bigley, sisters Justine (Edward) Good and Suzanne Richard; her six children, Susan (Frank), Mary (Patrick), John (Nancy), Paul (Mary), Thomas (Elaine) and Anne (Todd); 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Louis Richard and Justine Fogarty Richard.
Known for her dedication to her family, her strong faith and her incredible artistic talent, Louise was always willing to cook up a delicious meal, console an aching heart or sit in the backyard and draw with her grandchildren. She truly relished time with her husband, John, who told her daily that she was a "dear lady" whom he "loved dearly." She had the kindest of hearts and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 14 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 318 N. Baldwin Avenue, Sierra Madre, CA 91024, with visitation at 12 noon and Mass at 1 p.m, followed by interment at Turner & Stevens Live Oak Memorial Park in Monrovia. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Frostig Center in Pasadena, a school for children with learning disabilities.
