Nov. 14, 1932 - Jan. 23, 2021 Robert Algarin was an extraordinary man who was incredibly kind, caring, and radiated positivity. He was compassionate and helped anyone who expressed a need whether it was great or small. He was also known for his boundless energy and uninhibited laughter. He peacefully passed away on January 23, 2021, at the age of 88 after living a long and exceptional life. Bob was born on November 14, 1932, the youngest of eight children. He was a remarkable husband, father, uncle, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all. Bob was a 1955 graduate of Purdue University. He married his wife, Marcia in 1961 and raised six children in Whittier, CA. He served the Whittier community for many decades as a high school English teacher and wrestling coach. Although he retired from teaching in 1994, he was continually recognized and acknowledged in the community by many former students whom he had impacted and inspired. Bob is survived by his wife Marcia, six children, seven grandchildren, one brother, and a large extended family. He will forever be in our hearts.
