Beloved Samuel Mead Watson, 84, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep January 28th. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Claire Wurst. He is survived by his wife Connie Widrig Watson, step-children Carol Widrig Garzillo, Marcela Widrig, and John Widrig, as well as his grandchildren Charlie Garzillo, Deanna Garzillo, Tristen Widrig, and Jacob Widrig.

Sam grew up in Philadelphia and attended Germantown Friends School (Germantown, PA, '47). He was a graduate of, and a loyal donor and fundraiser for, Amherst College ('51). He earned his Masters in Accounting from Wharton ('52) and was a Navy Veteran ('52-'54). He began his professional career with Arthur Young in New York where he rose to Partner. He retired from Panasonic to Sugar Mill (FL) and Blue Hill (ME). In 1999, he established residence in Sierra Madre (CA). Sam loved his family, friends, baseball, and golf. His intelligence and generosity personified a dear man who was appreciated, loved, and will always be missed. A Memorial service will take place at 3:00 PM on March 24th at The Congregational Church of Sierra Madre (193 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.).
