Thomas Curren Obituary
June 18, 1928 - August 5, 2018Thomas Curren was born in Pennsylvania, the third of 4 children. When an older sister needed a drier climate for her health, the family relocated to California. He was the owner (since 1950) of the Pasadena Lock Shop, which in recent years has been run by his son, Steve. He built the business that over the years supported his family: his wife of 70 years, Shirley, and their 7 children. When Tommy (as he was known at the time) was recalled to Army service during the Korean War, his dad ran the shop for him. His second tour of duty was served in a CID unit in California until his dad died. The Army discharged him early with honors so that he could return to his family and business. To Tom (as he was known in later years), God, family, and country were priorities and he always put these before himself. Tom had a zest for life and enjoyed many adventures such as skydiving, bungee jumping, and zip lining. He loved going anywhere on a trip or adventure with family.Tom's memory lives on through his family. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Shirley, and 6 of their children, 19 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. He will be sorely missed.Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 18, at noon in St. Elizabeth's Church in Altadena. Please sign the guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/pasadenastarnews.
