December 20, 1929 - November 21, 2018Wray Cornwell, 88, of San Marino passed away peacefully after a short illness at his home on November 21, 2018 with his family by his side.Born in Santa Ana, Calif., to Louise and Clifton Cornwell, Wray was a graduate of Inglewood High School, University of Redlands, and Stanford Business School. He began his sales career with Formica Corporation in the 1950s then went on to work for Leed Plastics Corporation in Los Angeles for 30 years until his retirement in 1988.Wray and his wife Jeanne lived in Altadena from 1958 to 1969 when they and their children Tom and Kay moved to San Marino. After retirement, he served his community as a Boy Scout leader, member of Rotary International and San Marino City Club. He was active in Huntington Medical Research Institutes and served on the boards of The Old Mill Foundation, San Marino Library Foundation, Monte Vista Grove Homes, and San Marino Community Church where he also served as a deacon and ushered at services for nearly 50 years. He and Jeanne were honored by Rotary International as Paul Harris Fellows in 2004 for their service to their community.Wray is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jeanne Walker Cornwell, son Tom Cornwell, daughter Kay Cornwell Romer (Greg), and grandchildren Ella Cornwell, Laura Romer, Colin Romer, and Glenn Romer, and half-brother Gene Lukensmeyer.Services will be December 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at San Marino Community Church.
