Reginald Webster Obituary

Webster, Reginald Clay

Reginald Clay Webster ("Reggie" or "Big Reg") died on September 30, 2015, while traveling, at the age of 75. He was born September 28, 1940, in Saint Joseph, Missouri, where he was raised with his sister, Sheila (deceased) by Ernest and Willella Yancey Webster. Reggie attended Lafayette High School before he enlisted in the Marines in January 1960.
While stationed at Lake Mead Naval Base, Reggie met
Barbara Smith while on a weekend leave. They were married on July 17, 1961, which began a marriage that would last 54 years until his death. Reggie was stationed in Okinawa, Japan until 1963 when they moved to Los Angeles and later to Altadena, which began a 52-year residence in the Pasadena community. Shortly thereafter he went to work for Santa Fe Railroad where he would work for nearly his entire career. Together Reggie and Barbara raised three children, Reginald C. Webster II (Los Angeles), Toi Webster Treister (Dana) (Pasadena), and Regina Webster (Phoenix, AZ), and today they have five grandchildren (Styrling Webster, and Olivia, Natalie, Alexandra, and Jackson Treister) and one great-grandchild (Wyatt Marshall).
Reggie is described by all who knew him as kind, gentle, and caring. He was a man of few words, but he had something kind to say about everyone. His easy-going and quiet demeanor were surpassed only by his willingness to work hard and dedication to his family. Always active, he could often be found tinkering or fixing or attending a family member's sporting event.
A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Sunrise Chapel at Mountain View Mortuary in Altadena, CA, with a reception to follow from 12:00-3:00 at the Altadena Country Club.

Mr. and Mrs. Webster were our neighbors in Altadena. I have very fond memories of Mr. and Mrs. Webster, many times I would come home from school and find Mrs. Webster having coffee with my mother. I offer his family my sincerest condolences. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

With much affection,

You were a bright light to all who knew you and your contagious smile, a source of life for all who loved you.

We will miss you dearly; however, God knows best and we will stay closed to Barb and the entire family that you so loved and cherished.

Much love to the Websters and the Treisters, know that you are all in our prayers.
