GILBERT R. RODRIGUEZ, JR. February 16, 1967 - April 19, 2015 Gilbert R. Rodriguez, Jr., philosopher, humorist, storyteller, friend and brother to all, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 19, 2015 at 5:11 AM in San Leandro, California. He was 48. Born to Gilbert R. Rodriguez, Sr., and Nellie O. Rodriguez on February 16, 1967, in Tucson, Arizona. He later lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, and Riverside, California, before settling in San Francisco in 1993. Gilbert took pride in working as an operations manager for several highly successful companies before following his deep passion in caring for dogs. Gilbert often volunteered his time to La Cocina, a non-profit Kitchen incubator, whose mission is to cultivate low income food entrepreneurs as they formalize and grow their business by providing affordable commercial kitchen space, industry-specific technical assistance and access to the market opportunities. Gilbert lived life to its fullest, and his loyalty to family and friends defined the man he ultimately became. Gilbert is survived by his wife and partner in life, Natasha Gibson; their daughter, Chloe Rodriguez; Gilbert's daughter Ezra Rodriguez (Cyndy Castro, mother); his parents, Gilbert and Nellie Rodriguez; his siblings: Yvonne P. Rodriguez (Jessica and Kendra Allen), Rene R. Rodriguez (Michelle Kearby and Andrew Rodriguez), Mark A. Rodriguez (Jennifer Mitchell, Isabelle C. Rodriguez, and Lila A. Rodriguez), and an enormous extended family he loved and cared for deeply. His brilliant spirit, joy, and talents will be celebrated at a 1:00 pm Mass and Service at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish at 410 Hawes Street, San Francisco, CA, on Friday, May 8th, 2015, followed by a private reception celebrating his life on May 9th in Pacifica, California.
