CLIFTON S. WOOD 11/19/1917 - 7/30/2016 Clifton Stuart Wood, 98, passed away on July 30, 2016 at his home in Riverside, CA surrounded by family. Clifton was born in Valley City, North Dakota to William & Anna Wood on November 19, 1917. His family moved to Conneaut, Ohio where he attended grade school and high school. After graduating he moved to Ashtabula, Ohio with his family. There he met the love of his life, Autumn Jones. They married on August 8, 1944. He enlisted in the Army in 1941 and had an honorable discharge in 1945, as Platoon Sgt. He received an American defense service medal, 2 bronze star medals, rifle sharp shooter and a combat Infantryman badge. Clifton and Autumn had four children, Clifton Jr., Larry, Bruce and Elaine. While in Ashtabula Clif worked for the Cleveland Illuminating Company as an electrician. He and his family moved to Riverside, CA in 1963, where he then worked for Metropolitian Water District. Clif retired in 1984 and purchased and managed the Arcade Liquor Store in the Brockton Arcade. Clifton enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes, baseball, sudoku, crossword puzzles and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Elks Lodge for many years, he also volunteered at the Janet Goeske Senior Center. Clif was preceded in death by his wife Autumn in 2011 and his son Bruce in 1997. He is survived by his sons Clifton Jr. of Fallbrook, Larry (Diana) and daughter Elaine who reside in Riverside. He has 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Vitas Innovative Hospice Care for their wonderful and caring staff. Visitation will be at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary on Wednesday, August 10th, from 6 to 8 pm with funeral on Thursday August 11th at 10:00 AM at Acheson & Graham 7944 Magnolia Ave., Riverside CA followed by burial at Olivewood Memorial Park.

Sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He had a full life and made everyone he touched a better person. Many great memories from our arrival in California 52 years ago until now. Rest in peace Clif.
