HELENA HENDRIKA DONGELMANS née PALS Helena was born in Holland on July 15, 1929. She was called to heaven April 27, 2013. After marrying Anthonius Dongelmans in 1958, the couple moved to Canada for a new life. Seven years and two children later, they moved to California, where they had their third child. She enjoyed attending daily mass and was involved in various Catholic charities, including the Saint Francis Legion in Bryon, Ohio; the Legion of Mary in Prescott, Arizona; and St. Martha's Food Pantry in Murrieta, California. Helena spent most of her life in California and considered it her true home. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a good friend, and a charitable member of the community. Helena is survived by her husband, Tony; daughter, Natalie Gagnon (husband Jeff); sons Daniel Dongelmans (wife Janel) and Richard Dongelmans (wife Kathy); and grandchildren Mara and Miles Gagnon and Emilene Dongelmans. A Visitation and Vigil service is scheduled for Sunday, May 5, starting at 5:00 PM at Murrieta Valley Funeral Home in Murrieta. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 6, at 10:00 AM at St. Martha Catholic Church in Murrieta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colon Cancer Alliance at www.ccalliance.org.
