DOROTHY ANN MICHALAK
January 30, 1931- May 20, 2017
Age 86, passed away peacefully at Riverside Community Hospital on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Dorothy was a much loved wife, mother, grand- mother and great-grandmother and is survived by seven of her ten children, Kathy, Ron, Frank, Terri, Mary, Dave and Joe. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Frank and three of her children, Steve, Mike and Dan. Dorothy was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 30, 1931. She and Frank were married on September 16, 1950. The first three of their 10 children were born in Chicago before they moved to California five years later. They settled in Hawthorne until retiring to live in their dream home designed and built by the family in the San Bernardino Mountains in Crestline in September of 1982. When Frank passed away in 2003 Dorothy moved to Riverside, across the street from her oldest daughter, Kathy. Dorothy was always the kindest, nicest person you could meet. She had a smile that brightened the room and had a faith that was unshakeable. She withstood the test of losing her husband of 53 years and three of her sons but her faith in God was never shaken. She loved seeing the family grow and family gatherings were always full of laughter and fun.
