1930 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
ADOLFO T. MEDIANO Adolfo T. Mediano, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, passed away peacefully at home, with his loved ones, Thursday October 31st, 2013. Adolfo was born in the rural mining town, Santa Rita, New Mexico on August 5th, 1930 to Severiano and Rosario Mediano. At the age of 15, he was the first of his family to move from New Mexico to California, his immediate family followed soon after. He was later drafted into the military during the Korean conflict and stationed in Anchorage Alaska. Upon his discharge from the service, he married his dear high school friend, turned sweetheart, Consuelo Martinez. In 1957, he moved his family into the house he built and lived in until his death. Adolfo worked for the city of Banning for several years as a building inspector and retired as state housing inspector in 1985. As a devoted father, he was actively involved in his children's lives as a baseball coach, scout leader and mentor. He instilled the family tradition of yearly camping vacations, throughout the United States, including parts of Canada and Mexico with his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Other things he enjoyed included fishing, making New Mexico chili dishes, joking around, giving advice, and spending time with his family and friends. Dogs were also an important part of his life. Adolfo was a man of many achievements, but of all his accomplishments, he expressed being most proud of the ongoing success of his children. Adolfo was 83 years old, survived by his loving wife of 60 years Consuelo; three sons Adolfo Jr. (Bonnie), Larry (Norma), Dennis (Jen Lyn); daughters Cynthia M.
