Albano Patrick Fernandes Obituary
ALBANO PATRICK FERNANDES Al went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2013. Known as Al to his friends and Dampa to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was born on March 17th, 1932 in Eureka, California to John and Clementine Fernandes. Al met Genevieve in high school and later married in 1951. He served in Korea with the U.S. Army. Together they moved to Southern California and settled in Norco, California where they planted roots and raised their family. Al worked for and retired from the Christian Labor Union (CLA) as a Dairy Milker after 45 years of service. After retirement, Al continued to work for Manheim auto auction where he was a Vehicle Display Driver. Al is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Genevieve Fernandes; sister Vel Luis, and brother Arnold Fernandes; 4 children and their spouses: Albano II and Maureen Fernandes, Tarri Bowné, Lynn and Pat Woolweaver, and Charlene and Danny Parnell; 12 grandchildren: Christopher, Craig, Robert, Patrick, Stephanie, Chenelle, Christine, Billy, Johannah, Katie, John, and Aaron; as well as 8 great-grandchildren: Bradley, Brianna, Sara, Brooke, Robert III, Samantha, Olivia, and Landin. Al was preceded in death by his brother John Fernandes and his daughter Reneé Dale Fernandes. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 30th, at Pierce Brother Crestlawn Memorial Park and Mortuary located on 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, Ca 92505. The viewing is from 10am to 12pm; following is a rosary service from 12pm to 1pm. There will be a private family only graveside service immediately following. A gathering for family and friends will be held at a location with information supplied after service.
