Alicia "Alice" Salcado In Memoriam
Our Beautiful Mother and Nana ALICIA (ALICE) SALGADO March 16,1935 ~ December 26, 2011 It's hard to believe a year has passed since our Mother went to be with the Lord and her husband Leo. We miss her deeply. We take comfort that she is with our father, her childhood sweetheart and husband for 54 years and the Lord Jesus her Savior. There is that saying that when one partner goes the other will soon follow. She tried to hide her broken heart and keep a brave front when she was with us, but she missed him terribly and longed to be with him again. When her children, grandchildren and their husbands and wives are together we share our memories of her. We tell stories of the good times we had and the love we shared. I can still hear her voice when she would open our door and yell out "anyone home, yoo-hoo it's your mother" and the purring of her car's motor as she came down our road to visit us. We all miss hearing her voice, her opinions, her wonderful cooking, and the tales she shared of the old days. We all have wonderful memories that will last throughout our lives and we will never forget her. Even a chuckle as we remember spending Christmas at the hospital with her last year and then later trying to heat up our Christmas dinner brings a smile to our lips and a tear to our eyes. Our family had the whole 2nd floor for 17 days, we laughed, we cried, we remembered and we loved. She, as always, brought us together and brought the best out of us. Those happy and sad memories will get us through the Holidays! We are her legacy. Our lives are a testimony to her love.
