Alyce L. Perez Obituary
ALYCE L. PEREZ 1921 - 2013 Born in Langeloth, Pennsylvania, Alyce spent her early childhood in Canton, Ohio. She graduated from Timken High in 1940, then worked as a bookkeeper until her marriage in 1945 to Joseph T. Perez. After a particular cold winter in 1962, it was decided to make the move west to California. Alyce was always disappointed with the palm trees that looked like "telephone poles with fringe." Thank goodness she discovered D'Elia's Grinders. She often said that is the only reason she stayed in Riverside. After Joe's retirement they moved to Sun City in 1979 and became involved in local community activities. Alyce volunteered with the Sun City Association, helped with elections and managed the weekly Bingo at the community center. She passed at home in her sleep on March 22, 2013. After her husband's passing in June 2012 her health declined. Alyce is survived by son Tom Perez (Vicki); daughter Jolita Perez; granddaughter Kandyce Wearing (Jim) and great grand-daughters Samantha Ann and Riley Ann. Memorial services will be private. The family requests in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to the ASPCA in her name.
