Angelo John Lunetta passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 after a battle with melanoma.
Angelo was born on October 20, 1931 in Corona, California. He graduated from Corona High School in 1949. He attended the American Barber College from 1949 to 1950. Angelo served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. He returned to Corona to attend Riverside College where he graduated in Cosmetology in 1957.
Angelo married his high school sweetheart, Gloria Zilioli, in 1953. They remained in Corona where Angelo barbered for 52 years. Angelo's Barber Shop was the place to get the latest men's hairstyles over the decades. Many adults remember their childhood haircuts at Angelo's and "the bubblegum toss" as a reward for sitting still. Angelo barbered a total of 61 years before retiring in 2010.
Angelo is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria Lunetta; his two daughters and their families also of Corona: Debra Morrison, husband Eric and grandchildren, CJ and Kayla. Dr. Cheryl Lunetta Daniels, husband Frank and grandchildren, Cory and Kyle. He is also survived by his two sisters and a sister-in-law: Antoinette (Wally) Wright of Colorado, Virginia (Rick) Hamm of Arizona and Iva Lee (Carl) Lawrence of Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held on Monday, December 18 at 10 a.m. at Crossroads Christian Church (The Plex). 2331 Kellogg Ave., Corona. In lieu of flowers please donate to AIM at Melanoma Foundation. https://www.aimatmelanoma.org/get-involved/donations/
