Anthony Amedio Lepordo

1923 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
ANTHONY AMEDIO LEPORDO Anthony passed peacefully into God's hands on March 8, 2014, in Wildomar, CA, after a short illness. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 29, 1923; he was the son of immigrant Italian parents, who arrived at Ellis Island in 1921. Anthony lived his early years in Watertown, MA, until he graduated from Watertown High and enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his country valiantly during WWII in the Mediterranean, and after being injured at the Battle of Anzio returned to the States. Returning to civilian life, Anthony was a top salesman for Sears-Robuck in Boston. In 1957 he moved his family to California, where he remained in the furniture business, owning three stores during the 60's and 70's in Anaheim. He retired in 1985. Gardening was his passion, and many wonderful family memories were made walking through tall stalks of corn, and plants and vines bursting with tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, cauliflowereverything. He and his wife, Olga, moved briefly to Prescott, AZ in 1993, then to Murrieta, CA in 1996, where they remained until his death. Anthony was a man whose heart was full of love for those he knew. His caring extended far beyond the boundaries of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents Grace and Carlo Lepordo; children, Peter, Edward and Linda; sister Clara and brother Joseph. Anthony is survived by his adored wife Olga, of Murrieta; daughter, Toni Lepordo Shaw and husband, Jim of Murrieta; son Paul Lepordo and wife, Jody of Corona; grandson Bryan Lepordo; granddaughters Jennifer Dunatov and husband John, of Long Beach, and Paula Buyak of Redlands; grandsons Christopher and Nicholas Lepordo of Corona; great-grandsons Silas Buyak and James Dunatov; brother Carlo Lepordo and wife, Ellie of Sudbury, MA; many beloved nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law Donna Lepordo of Dewey, AZ and dearest friend, Fatima Hopkins. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Martha Catholic Church in Murrieta on March 13. He was interred at Riverside National Cemetery with Military Honors. Donations in Anthony's name can be made to Catholic Charities, Salesian Missions, or the American
