ANTHONY (TONY) PAUL MASCITTI, 89, of Temecula,CA, passed away May 1, 2014. He was born at home to the late Attillio and Caterina Mascitti on March 26, 1925 in Los Angeles (Eagle Rock), California. Tony graduated from Franklin High School in Los Angeles. He was married to his late wife of 60 years, Emilia Mascitti. Since 1957 they lived together in the house they designed and built in Los Angeles until they moved to Temecula in the year 2000 at the age of 75 and 72. They traveled some and enjoyed their retirement. Tony worked for Purina, Gaffers and Sattler and then Hughes Aircraft as a Traffic Manager where he retired in 1989. He was very involved with his Young People's Club in his 20's and received many leadership awards. He founded the Glassell Park Improvement Association in 1969 and continued to be an active president many times. Later on he joined the Catholic Italian Federation and became president in Los Angeles at St. Bernards Church multiple times and then at St. Marthas Church in Murrieta, where he also served as President many times. Tony Mascitti is survived by his four children: Laurie Pinon, of Temecula,CA (husband Louie); Julie Johnson of Rancho Santa Margerita,CA (husband Terry) ; Perry Mascitti, Arlington, WA (wife Mary Beth); Gregory Mascitti, North Hollywood (wife Marlene), and 7 grandchildren: Andrew Mascitti, Jessica Pinon, Stacy Mascitti, Kari, (husband Eric), Scott Johnson, Kristi Johnson and Brandon Mascitti The Rosary Vigil will be held Thursday, May 8, 7pm (viewing 5:00pm-8pm) at Murrieta Valley Funeral Home, 24651 Washington Ave, Murrieta,CA 92562. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 9, 10:30am (viewing 9:30am- 10:30am) at San Fernando del rey Mission Church, 15151 San Fernando Blvd, Mission Hills, CA 91345.
