Antoinette Margaret Knez

1925 - 2015 Obituary Condolences
ANTOINETTE MARGARET KNEZ passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2014 at Loma Linda Medical Center in Murrieta, California. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Fred Knez, in Tucson Arizona. Her sister and best friend, Mary Jo Camp, preceded her. She is survived by her five children, Fred Knez, Toinette Lang/Knez, Peter Knez, Jacques Knez, and Marc Knez and her grandchildren, Jodie, Heidi, Rachel, Sam, Matthew, Andrew, Paul, Naomi, Abbie, Alex, Kyle, Natalie and Henry, and her great grandchildren, Trevor, Madison, Courtney, Hailey, Eli, Jayden, Piper, Sadie, Levi, and Corbin. She was born on May 31, 1925, and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Never enjoying cold weather, she went on to attend the University of Arizona where she met and married a handsome marine, Fred Knez. Upon graduation, Fred joined the Peter Kiewit Construction Company based in Omaha, Nebraska, and they traveled extensively throughout the country and Canada. Having five children together, being a mother became her soul devotion. Eventually they moved to Tucson, Arizona and enjoyed amazing sunsets from their beautiful home in the foothills. When Fred passed away, Antoinette moved to Riverside, California to be near her sons. There she became an office assistant to her eldest son, Fred, in his law practice. Finally she moved to the Colony, in Murrieta, California. There she was the center of a group of dear and precious friends that filled their days with clubs and events. Her favorite was the wine club! Antoinette studied art at the University of Arizona and continued to sketch and paint for the rest of her life. She even completed a large painting recently at her son, Peter's home in Boonville, California (see above). On May 31, of this very year, Antoinette celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by the large and beautiful family she had made! Antoinette loved life and all the joys therein. A day did not go by without a cup of tea, her cute smile, an artistic doodle, and a glass of wine.
