Arnold (Arnie) Davis Obituary
ARNOLD DAVIS (ARNIE) Age 91, of Sun City, California, began life on September 27, 1923 in Galatia, Kansas and entered eternity October 2, 2014. A 42-year resident of the Sun City area, Arnie moved to Sun City with Mary Marjorie Davis, the mother of his children, who passed in 1993. Arnie is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Shirley Davis; loyal sons, Marshall Davis of La Verne, California and Scott Davis of San Rafael, California; and is cherished by 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was one of nine children of David and Lena Davis (deceased) of Hoisington, Kansas and is survived by brothers Emerson, Albert, and Wayne, and sister Kay Ree Johnson, all from the Kansas/Oklahoma areas. After graduating Hoisington High School in Hoisington, KS in 1941, he joined the Navy and served in the South Pacific during WWII. Once the war was over, Arnie graduated from Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Missouri in 1949. Moving to California in 1959 for a brighter future, Arnie worked for Jet Propulsion Labs in Los Angeles County and later owned and operated Village Liquor in Baldwin Park and Santiago Liquor in Santa Ana. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was known for his green thumb in vegetable gardening. Arnie passed his love of fishing on to his children and grandchildren who will remember him every time they bring in "the big one." Memories and stories will live on to be shared and retold for years to come. We love you, Dad! Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 2pm at Miller-Jones Chapel, 26770 Murrieta Rd., Sun City, CA.
