Barbara J. Dubois Obituary
Barbara passed away at the age of 88 on February 18, 2017 at her home in Murrieta. She had a long battle with COPD and pulmonary hypertension and had recently been in the hospital and rehabilitation before returning home. Barbara is survived by her longtime friend and companion, Jenny Morgan, and her nieces/nephews Thane, Marsha, Barbara, David, Robert, James, Suzanne, Ryan, Sally, Kathee and Royceanne.
Barbara was born in Pasadena to Grace and Amos DuBois. She was raised in Pasadena and her father owned DuBois Funeral Home in the San Gabriel Valley for many years. Barbara attended UC Santa Barbara. She retired in the early 1990's from ITT Cannon Industries where she was Manager of the Publications Department for Marketing for many years. She was preceded in death by her brother David DuBois and sister Franceslee Foster.
Barbara's longtime love was the Arabian horse. She was a member of the Arabian Horse Association since 1975 and a member of the Rancho Arabian Horse Association since its inception August 21, 1985. Barbara volunteered as President, Board member, Delegate, Membership Director, Newsletter Editor and many other positions over the years. Barbara worked a second job as ranch hand and groom for a couple of local Arabian trainers. She traveled to many horse shows with Sandy Sapp (Carpenter) and then the Rich Family of Green Acres Ranch. She cared for her 2 old Arabian geldings into their late 20's up until the summer of last year. Barbara is now reunited with the many dogs, cats and horses she loved and cared for over the years. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Barbara was cremated and per her wishes there will be no service.
