Barbara Miller Obituary
Barbara Swann Miller was born February 5, 1936 on a farm outside Cuba, Kansas to Mithilda Ann Klabzuba and Milo Anton Benyshek. Barbara lived on the farm for the next 17 years graduating from Clifton High School in 1953.
Wanting to see more of this country, Barbara moved to Washington D.C. and went to Business College where she was certified in accounting in 1955. While in Washington, she met Earl Stanley Swann. They married in 1957.
After they moved to California, their son, Michael, was born in 1958 followed by their daughter, Janet, in 1961. Barbara loved her children and was very involved in their lives. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother as well as a Brownie Troop Leader and loved to volunteer wherever her children were concerned.
Following Earl's death in 1971, Barbara went back to school and graduated from California State University San Bernardino in 1973 with a B.A. degree in Psychology.
Barbara found love again, marrying Jerry Miller, an executive in the savings and loan industry. She also found time to go back to school, this time to study law. However, she realized that real estate was her real calling and got her real estate license in 1979, followed by her broker's license in 1984. She operated a successful brokerage business in San Bernardino until she retired.
In retirement, Barbara, who was an accomplished artist, also enjoyed leisure activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, cooking, gardening, reading, completing crossword puzzles and most of all, her grandson, Chris, Janet's son.
Barbara passed away on January 9, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her husband Jerry Miller; son Michael Swann; daughter Janet Miller; step-daughter Donna Miller and grandson Chris Miller. Her Memorial service was held on February 1 2018 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Redlands, California. Bobbitt Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
