REVEREND BEATRICE ELIZABETH BERRY Age 80, of Lewiston, CA, went to heaven on October 31, 2013. Viewing will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 9:30 - 11:30 AM at Preston and Simmons Mortuary, 3358 Mission Inn Avenue, Riverside, CA 92501. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Deaf Church, 22010 Pico Street, Grand Terrace, CA 92313. Bea was born in Pine Valley, La Flore County, Oklahoma, on January 27, 1933 and raised in South San Francisco, CA. She graduated from South San Francisco Jr.- Sr. High School in 1950 and continued on to receive a degree in Exegetical Theology in 1955 from Bethany Bible College. Bea was married to John Emmitt Charles Berry on February 22, 1958; they were married 55 years. They lived and served as ministers of the gospel in Riverside CA, until they retired in 1988. They eventually moved to Lewiston, CA for their retirement years. Bea founded and was pastor to Calvary Deaf Church in 1956 and served there for 32 years after being called into ministry to the deaf at Bethany Bible College. With the assistance of her husband John Berry, their ministry to the deaf was influential throughout the state of California, nationally and internationally. She was a beautiful singer and song writer/poet from an early age and was a selfless individual who dedicated her life to the service of God, others and family. Bea is survived by her husband John Berry; four children - Cynthia Berry Lowery, Skip Berry, Ron Berry and Rex Berry; brother Bob Curtright; sister Edith Frost; 26 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and other family and friends. Bea is preceded in death by her father Rev. Carl E. Curtright; her mother Lucille Curtright (Griffin);, and her brother Billy Carl Benjamin Curtright. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to The Berry Ministry Scholarship Fund through Calvary Deaf Church.
