BENJAMIN K. ALFELOR Age 78, died on November 28, 2012 at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, California with his family by his side. Mr. Alfelor was born on May 26, 1934, in Davao City, Philippines to Telesforo and Maria Cecilia. He graduated from Davao City High School and continued on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from the University of Mindanao, Philippines. On October 20, 1963, Mr. Alfelor married the love of his life, the former Ase Larsen of Stavanger, Norway. They were married for 49 years. Mr. Alfelor served in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer First Class. He worked as a Naval Storekeeper and was assigned to Vietnam as a supply advisor. He served mostly aboard Navy Ocean Mine-sweepers and also with the Military Police in Washington DC. He retired from military service in 1975, and served in the Civil Service with the Logistics Division at March AFB, California until his second retirement in 1993. "Uncle Ben", as he was more affectionately known, was the cornerstone of the Alfelor family. He led the path for all the Alfelors to the United States, and helped enable them to pursue their dreams and a better life. He was a fun loving father, uncle, grandfather, a responsible son, and very protective brother. He gave his "all" to his family and friends, never asking for anything in return... a dedicated husband, who loved his wife infinitely, devoted in every way to his one true love. Mr. Alfelor spent the last 33 years of his life in California. He and his wife, Ase, enjoyed many wonderful years in Long Beach, Moreno Valley and finally, Corona. He is survived by his wife, Ase; three children, Cecilia Kim, Benjamin Jr., and Kristian. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Lauren, Richard Jr., Matthew, Ethan and Andrew.
