BERNARD R. LETTS Our beloved Bernie went to heaven on August 6, 2014. Bernie was born in the Bronx, N.Y. on November 20, 1934. For the past 15 years he was a resident of Corona, CA, participating as a volunteer for the Friends of the Corona Library, the Men's Coffee Club at the Corona Senior Center and worked as a crossing guard, most recently at Citrus Hills Middle School. Bernie served as a Sargeant in the U.S. Army in Germany, where he met his wife of 60 years. He received his Honorable Discharge in 1955, and began working for Brown Shoe Company. The company brought Bernie and his family to the West Coast, first to San Francisco, CA and then to Irvine, CA where he and his family spent 30 years. Bernie loved his wife, children and grandchildren so much and enjoyed being an active member of his community and his church. Bernie is survived by his loving wife, Erika; his son, Rick and daughter-in-law, Kathleen; his daughter, Diana and son-in-law, Paul and his five beautiful grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Red Hill Lutheran Church in Tustin, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a contribution to in memory of Bernie.
