Bertha Alicia (Quezada) Fields Obituary
BERTHA ALICIA FIELDS (QUEZADA) On October 22, 2016, my mother's spirit found the peace she always desired. If there is anything that my mom taught me, it is choice. My mom was not content with her earthly existence. She was plagued with constant pain from childhood injuries and injuries from manual labor jobs in her adulthood. Later in life I learned that much of her pain was emotional and spiritual as well. Beyond the pain at the core of my mother was joy. Joy from the love that she chose to share with me. Our lives were not always together for one reason or another. But when my mom and I had our moments there was never a doubt in my mind that she loved me very much. I know that to be true even after her earthly departure. My mom had a choice to make when she was diagnosed with stage four cancer in her breast. That was her choice. She also had a choice in how and when she wanted to go home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I may not agree with a lot of choices my mom made but my spirit is at ease knowing that she had the opportunity to make peace with God and did so prior to taking her last breath. In perfect timing a Bible with the following verse book marked was by my mother's side, Romans 13:13-14. It reads, "Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof." Bertha Alicia Fields (Quezada) was born July 13, 1960 to Guadalupe and Francisco (deceased) Quezada. She is survived by two sisters and two brothers. She is in Heaven now with her brother, Victor Quezada. A very special thanks to Carly, Sabrina, Jose Luis, Cisco and Robert. Without your love, compassion and attentiveness to my mom she would not have made it as far as she did. May God bless each of you.
