BETTY ALICE (SAHM) BREWSTER died June 9, 2015 at her home in Riverside, CA. Betty was born October 26, 1933 to parents Charles and Daisy Sahm in Port Chicago, CA. She received her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from San Jose State College (now, University) in 1955. Betty then traveled to Europe where she had a job in the offices of the Air Force Base at Chateauroux, France, and traveled extensively throughout the region. In France, she met Neil H. Brewster, an Airman in the Air Force who shared Betty's passion for swing dancing, and whom she married in 1957 in Niagara Falls, NY. Betty and Neil relocated to San Bernardino, CA in 1957, and then to Riverside in 1962, where Betty had resided since. Betty has been a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, a volunteer at Kaiser Hospital, a law firm secretary, and an avid member of the Dream Group during her years in Riverside. She has also been active in causes pertaining to Type 1 diabetes, with which she was diagnosed during her 40's. Neil passed away in 2005 after 48 years of marriage. Betty is survived by her son Donald Brewster; her son and daughter-in-law John and Marci Brewster; her son and daughter-in-law Gary Brewster and Tess Mateo; her daughter Janet Brewster, and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Norma (Sahm) Beard; her twin sister and brother-in-law Donna (Sahm) and Gordon Monroe; and her brother and sister-in-law Robert and LaVerne Sahm. Betty was also close to other family members who preceded her in death including her brother Carl Sahm, sister-in-law Beverly Sahm, and brother-in-law Edgar Beard. Services are pending.
