Betty Jean (Way) Barnett Obituary
BETTY JEAN BARNETT (WAY), former longtime Grand Terrace, CA resident, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016, in Oceanside, CA surrounded by her family. Betty was born on March 21, 1940 to Thomas and Helen McCracken. She was their third child and only daughter who came late in their lives and brought them much joy on their ranch in San Jacinto, CA. In 1961, Betty married Richard Barnett. They had four children, Beverly, Sharon, Mike, and Billy. The Barnett's raised their family in Grand Terrace. Although Betty was listed as "Mother" on only four birth certificates; she was definitely "Mom" to countless others. Her home and heart were always open and she knew no strangers. As her children became more independent, Betty became a travel agent and fulfilled her dream of visiting Hawaii for both work and pleasure. Betty had a heart of gold, a gypsy spirit and a special love for music. In 1992 Betty became Bill Way's bride and remained married to him until he preceded her in death five years ago. They made their home in Oceanside, CA for the mild climate and Betty's love of the ocean. Betty is survived by her two daughters Beverly Loft and Sharon Saknit; her two sons Mike Barnett (wife Brenda) and Billy Barnett; four grandchildren Josh Barnett, Roxie Barnett, Cheyenne Barnett, Kipp Loft and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, please share your memories with the family at: www.caringbridge.org/visit/bettybarnettwa
