BEVERLY JOAN FREEMAN
81, passed away on September 3, 2017 at Magnolia Rehabilitation. Beverly was born in Decatur Illinois, Daughter of Thomas Hays Jr and Lura Hazel Hays. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1954. In 1963 her parent's and herself, along with her 5 siblings, moved to Riverside, CA In 1965 she married Fred Luther Freeman II whom preceded her in death in 2005. Alongside her husband Fred they partnered together in owning restaurants, such as Zandy's in Colton and The Rumble Seat, formerly of the old Adams Auto Center. In semi-retirement she worked as a waitress for Love's Wood pit Barbeque formerly on University and Iowa Ave and for the Kmart Corporation. She was a member of the Riverside Eastern Star, Ungava Chapter for many years. She is survived by Her Daughter Sheryl L Brown: Son-in-law Jeff Brown of Riverside, Brother, Thomas Hays and Sister-in-law Gerry Hays of Riverside, Sister's Darlene Willson of Great Falls, Montana, Janet and Ralph Turner of Springfield Illinois, and Sandy and Ron Thompson of Byrdstown, Tennessee. 3 Grandchildren, Justin Kimble, Kayla Brown and Breanna Brown and 2 Great Grandchildren Jenna and Ethan Kimble. Services will be held graveside at the Riverside National Cemetery on September 20, 2017 at 10:01 A.M. In Lieu of flowers it was Mrs. Freemans wish that memorial contributions be made for Pancreatic Cancer Research at www.pancan.org.
