BILLY CHARLES WRIGHT Age 83, died peacefully Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at his home in Georgetown, California surrounded by his beloved family. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Cecelia Mae (Wilber) Wright; his brother Joe Wright; his sister, Ima Jean Berry; his sister, Charlotte Frisina; his daughter, Debra McGrady and husband Tom McGrady; his son, James Wright and wife Karen Wright; his daughter, Noel Kerr and husband Dale Kerr; his nine grandchildren, Billy Wright, Jerry Wright, Justin Wright, Jimmy Garrett, Sarah Kerr, Dallas Irvin, Robert Kerr, Savannah Hunt, and Stevey Courvette; his sixteen great-grandchildren, and many close friends. He will be reunited in Heaven with his father, YZ Wright; his mother, Fannie Wright; his brothers, Floyd Wright and Elmer Wright; his grandson, Matthew Garrett and many other missed loved ones. Born in Woodson, Texas in 1932, he was the third the son of YZ and Fannie Wright, and was raised with his three brothers and two sisters. The family moved in a pickup truck to Long Beach, California in 1942. He would live and own many homes throughout Southern California before retiring in Georgetown, California. In his early year, Bill played football and ran track at Compton High School. In 1949, he played fullback for his football team that won the CIF Championship. He joined the U.S. Army as a combat medic and served during the Korean War until honorably discharged on January 10, 1954. It was while serving his country that Bill met the love of his life, Cee Cee in Fort Lewis, Washington. After serving in the Army, he and his new bride returned to Long Beach, California. He began his career as a door to door Bible salesman. He bought his first home in Gardena, California where he had two daughters and one son. Billy later became a successful business man selling as the CEO of Sandak shoes in Corona, California. Over the years, his hard work and reputation led him to retire early. Mr. Wright had a passion for watersports, fishing, hunting, racing off-road, and flying his multiple airplanes. He was a lover of traveling and experiencing all that life had to offer. In his later years, he dedicated himself to watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sports and events. Billy C. Wright will be missed and loved by all who knew him. Respects can be made at his viewing on Friday, February 5th at the Thomas Miller Mortuary in Corona, California between 5-8 pm. His funeral will be held on Saturday, February 6th at Inland Vineyard Church in Corona, California at 11:00 am. Immediately following will be a celebration for Billy at The California Citrus Historical State Park in Riverside, California. He will have a private burial with his family.
