1939 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Boyce Edward/Ed Boyer, formerly of San Marcos, CA, died Friday, June 8, in Hemet, California. He was born to Boyd and Vesta (Schauer) Boyer in Erie, PA, December 2, 1939. After graduating from Ashtabula (OH) High School in 1958, Ed moved to California where he joined family members in the sign making business. Over the years he owned different companies, finishing with the Comet Sign Company and the Western Signs in San Marcos.
Ed was active in the Christian Community , including a 30 year membership in the Christian Men's Fellowship. He was well known to be a man who cared as he and his wife Harriet assisted many at moments of need.
He loved life and was grateful for the miracle of surviving cancer since 1998. He spent his lasted three years at The Camelot, senior housing in Hemet.
Ed is survived by his sons Chris Boyer (mother Ginger) of San Diego, and Eddie Boyer (mother Lynne Wilson of Union City) of Texas; his sisters Luanna Hale of Ashtabula, OH, Beulah Waller of Grand Blank, MI, and Edith/Edie Brewer-Plyer of Linden, MI; and many grandchildren, cousins, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ginger Boyer; wife Harriet (Marsh), and brother Carl.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Miller-Jones Hemet Mortuary, 1501 W. Florida Ave., Hemet, California. A private military service will be held at Miramar National Cemetery.
