1945 - 2017 Obituary Condolences

Passed away at home in Corona, CA on June 21, 2017 at age 71. He was born September 29, 1945 in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii to Tony and Amelia Vandagriff. When he was 2 the family moved to the "mainland". Bruce graduated in 1963 from Arroyo High School, San Lorenzo, CA, Long Beach City College in 1971, and earned a B.S. from CSULB in 1975.
He was a Navy veteran serving during Vietnam aboard the USS Ozbourn as RD2. He was a proud member of the American Legion.
After a few short-term jobs, including the one he remembered fondly at Knott's Berry Farm, he began a 38-year career in insurance. He retired as Claims Manager in 2009 from GMAC.
Above all Bruce loved his family. His wife of 48 years Jackie; son Matt and daughter-in-law Leslie and their 4 children Linsey, Alisa, Joshua, and Keira of Eastvale; daughter Jillian Schwarzenbach and son-in-law Eric and their daughter Charlotte and her soon-to-be little sister of Texas. He is also survived by two sisters Karen Norris and husband Gary of Fremont and Sharon Shepard and husband Robert of Idaho and many nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed family vacations, the Dodgers, Corona Centennial Huskies, softball, cruising, and golf.
Services will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on July 21, 2017 at 10am. A celebration of Bruce's life will follow at the family home.
