Bruce Perry Obituary
BRUCE PERRY Native Hemet Valley resident, age 58, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016. Born March 31, 1957 in Hemet, CA, he was the third child of five. He attended Ramona Elementary School, Acacia Middle School, Hemet Junior High and was the first class to attend all three years and graduate from the "New Hemet High School". He attended University of California, Santa Barbara and graduated in 1980 with a Business of Economics degree. Soon after, Bruce was hired to work for Tierra Construction in Santa Barbara. In 1982 Bruce attained his General Engineering Contractor's license and returned to Hemet to expand his dad's trenching business. Alongside his brother Tom, Hemet Manufacturing Company, Inc. morphed into the Genesis Construction company of today. The company was officially launched in 1982. Hemet Industrial Supply was later formed to support the ever growing business of Genesis Construction. Throughout the years, Bruce was also involved with many community projects, including, but not limited to: Hemet Depot/Museum Project, Ramona Bowl, light towers and helium tanks for HUSD school carnivals, Hemet Youth Baseball, San Jacinto Unified Agricultural Program, Victory Ranch, and Calicinto Ranch. Bruce's turning point in his life was when he came to Christ at First Southern Baptist Church in the late 1970's. Several years later in 1984, he met the love of his life Candace Klinkert. They were married October 17, 1987. Even while he worked long hours to keep his business solvent, he made time for his church and family. He was actively involved at Bible Fellowship Church and served as an elder, youth leader, and singer for the worship team. Growing up, Bruce developed a love of the desert by jeeping with his dad and grandfather "Pops" in the infamous Checkerboard jeep. With his wife and two kids he spent many days camping, fishing, kayaking, backpacking, and off-roading in the desert. Bruce's need for speed included ATVs, side by sides, and a sand rail. He liked the hard-packed desert but developed a love for Glamis as his off-road vehicles became better suited for the sand. He is going to be greatly missed by his loving wife Candi; daughter Michelle Perry; son Kenneth Perry; sisters Jane Perry, and Margi (Guy) Stinson, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Mike and Tom and parents, Bud and Barbie Perry. The family invites all to attend a celebration of life service to be held at Bible Fellowship Church on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. located at 26835 Columbia Street, Hemet, CA 92544. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bible Fellowship Church Youth.
