Carl Marcy Obituary
Beloved father, grandfather, and uncle, Carl passed on during the night of 12/22/17 in his home in Hemet, CA at age 92. He was born in Saginaw, MI to Albert and Charlotte (Beythan) Marcy. After Charlotte's passing in 1944 Albert married Ruth Winters, who became a beloved step-grandma. Carl enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served as a communications specialist on a submarine. He worked at Michigan Bell Telephone 36 years and retired in 1983. He was a life time member of the Freeland Sportsman's Club, Masonic Lodge 273 Midland, VFW Post 7302 Hemlock, Submarine Vets WWII, and Telephone Pioneers. Living most of his life in his hometown of Freeland, MI he was a familiar figure as he walked and whistled his way around town. He and his beloved wife of 52 years, Marilyn (now deceased) moved to California in 1997. He retained his independence and continued to actively participate in many activities in his later years. We would like to express special thanks to his girlfriend, Joyce Altmann, for her loving support in recent years, and to his poker buddies for their friendship and many kindnesses. Thank you to all who helped make his life a little easier. Predeceased by brother Kenneth Marcy. He is survived by his three daughters Belinda Marcy-Joines (Larry), Rhonda Turvey (Mark), and Carla Johnson (Michael), four grandchildren Trevor, Alex, Micah (Sarah) and Alan, and three great-grandchildren Mason, Max and Timothy. He will be forever with us in our hearts and thoughts. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at the VFW, 1891 S. Santa Fe, San Jacinto, CA, Saturday, January 6, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to his favorite charity, the Salvation Army.
