Cathy passed from this life on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the age of 98. She was born on January 15, 1919 in Missions Hills, South Dakota. She graduated from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in 1940. She joined the Army Nurse Corps during WWII and was promoted to First Lieutenant. She was awarded the Bronze Star for heroic service for providing medical care while being under fire in a bitterly contested combat zone in Luzon, Philippines in 1945.
