CHARLENE BRYAN MCALISTER, born March 2, 1931, in Huntington Beach, CA, passed away peacefully at her home in Murrieta, CA, on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, with her husband, granddaughter Katie, and her long time caregiver Dana, by her side at 8:30am. Charlene is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Ronald (Tex) McAlister; sons Ronald McAlister and Daniel McAlister; sisters Marlene Moyes, Kitty Johnson, Karen King; brother Mike Bryan; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Charlene was raised in South Gate by her grandmother, Vera Carter. She and Tex were married in 1948. Charlene was a dedicated wife and loving mother. Her spirit was guided by her faith in Christ, and she loved to share her joy with others. In 1983, Charlene and Tex moved to Murrieta and started their thoroughbred horse ranch. Charlene enjoyed golfing at Bear Creek golf course with her many friends there. She was a member of Rancho Community Church for 30 years and more often than not, you would find her at Ritchie's Diner after church having breakfast with her friends and family. She was always known as making memories with her grandchildren. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. Charlene was laid to rest at Laurel Cemetery in Murrieta on Thursday, January 30, 2014. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 11:00am, at Rancho Community Church, 31300 Rancho Community Way, Temecula, CA 92592. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Charlene's preferred organization: Rancho Christian School - Scholarship Fund. The family would like to thank Dana Dittman and Maria Herrera, for the loving care they provided to Charlene during the last two years of her life.
