Charlene (Carmichael) Simpson Obituary
CHARLENE (CARMICHAEL) SIMPSON was born in Lynwood, CA on 4/29/1940 to her parents EH (Mike) and Alta Merle (Montgomery) Carmichael. She married David Alan Simpson on November 21, 1958 in Lynwood, CA. Charlene resided in Huntington Beach, CA for 28 years then moved to Moreno Valley, CA in 1995. Charlene passed away on 10/17/2016 at the age of 76. Charlene was an avid bowler and was proud of her 185 average. She enjoyed traveling to the county, state, and national women's tournaments with all her Beckman Bowling pals. She also was an avid outdoors gal. She loved camping and fishing with her favorite club, "The Beckman Campers." Many nights around the campfire Charlene told great stories, and very memorable ribald jokes. Her parents, Mike and Merle had 10 brothers and sisters, and they in turn had 9 children. So many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews! As mom was the oldest of her generation, so many of them looked up to her. Mark M., Jimmy M., Bobby A., Stephen A., Jimmy S., Kimberly S., Robin S., Marc C., and Eileen C. were just some that Charlene took care of during their formative years, and they all lovingly called her "Aunt Mom." Charlene is survived by her husband David Alan Simpson; her children Gary (Wendy) Simpson, and Shelly Jo Simpson, and her granddaughter Summer Rae Simpson. She is also survived by her sister Marilee (Louis) Weckmann and so many more family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Michael Joe Carmichael. Aunt Mom Charlene was loved by all who met her, and will be sorely missed. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
