Charles "Chuck" Brickell Obituary
CHARLES "CHUCK" BRICKELL of Menifee, CA passed peacefully from this life in his sleep at home on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 with his wife of 66 years Beatrice at his side. Chuck was born December 31, 1929 in Seattle, WA to the late Samuel and Ella Brickell and grew up in both North and South Dakota graduating from Bismarck High School in the late 1940s where he sang in the school choir. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and after the war lived in Denver, CO working for oil companies before moving his family to So. California in the early 1960s. There he worked in the aerospace industry and for MacDonnell Douglas in Long Beach during the Apollo moon missions and the heyday of the commercial jet development. In his younger days he built models, designed and built outdoors spaces, loved to go hunting, fishing and camping, played golf, enjoyed taking road trips and had a lifelong love/hate relationship for his favorite football team the Denver Broncos. Chuck is survived by his wife Beatrice; daughter Michelle; son Doug and daughter-in-law Kim; grandsons Tyler and Zach; great grandchildren Kali and Dana; great, great grandchildren Alice and Kingston; and nephew Mike and niece Paula. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Carrie Zatarain, sister Margaret Garrett and brother-in-law Richard Garrett Sr., niece Sharon Ordunez and nephew Dickie Garrett Jr. He had a sly sense of humor, a kind heart and will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Rest in peace Dad.
