CHERYL ANN CARMONA (NENA) Age 65, of Corona, CA, passed away (with a smile) peacefully, at her home on Thursday, August 28, 2014. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rosemarie Magette. She is survived by her loving husband, Cesar A. Carmona, of 21 years and her brothers and sisters, James Magette, William Magette , Daryl Magette, Annette Greer, Renee Webb, Michelle Orton, Kimberly Rimel and Lisa Rush. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Lyn Magette, and five brothers-in-law, Jim Greer, Kelly Orton and Tim Rush, Ephraim Carmona and Albert Carmona, all who loved her like a sister. Cheryl had many nephews and nieces who will miss her dearly, as well as many extended family members and friends. She was loved and was appreciated by her Tia's Candi, Mercedes, Luz, Adelina Rosa, Tootsie and her special "Farkel sister' Aunt Mary Lou. Cheryl loved all animals and had a great friend in Oreo, her gifted cat. Cheryl was born on February 3, 1949 in Pittsburgh, PA. Cheryl worked in the medical field before retiring as an Ophthalmological Medical Facility Director in 2008. Cheryl enjoyed travel, music, art and theater. Her holiday decorations were the talk of the town. Cheryl traveled to Puerto Rico every Thanksgiving to prepare a holiday feast for her loving father-in-law, Efrain Carmona of Aguada, Puerto Rico. She loved the island life, where she had many friends and mastered the art of Criollo cooking. Cheryl also loved to entertain at her home making her guests always feel so welcomed. She would create memorable meals, always trying new recipes. She appreciated the travel they shared to many places, here and abroad, no matter where their journeys took them, they always made new friends. She was loved and appreciated wherever she visited. She will always be remembered, because of the love she shared with all who had the pleasure of meeting her and appreciating her love of life. She touched many lives and those lives became happier lives. Her warmth, generosity, laughter and contagious smile will be missed, but forever remembered. God Bless you Nena. Friends and family will gather for a mass on Friday, September 19, 2014 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2140 W. Ontario Ave.Corona CA. 92882 on Friday, 1:30 p.m., September 19, 2014 followed by a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations in her memory be made to: C.A. Carmona c/o Merrill Lynch, 3550 Vine Street Suite 300 Riverside, CA 92507. Checks should reference "In Memory of Cheryl A. Carmona" on the memo line. Distribution will be made to Cheryl Ann's 3 favorite charities here and abroad.
