CINDY ASKINS
July 14, 1950 - August 23, 2017
Cindy Askins passed away August 23, 2017 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Cindy was the daughter of Charlotte (Ogden/Askins) Crowley (Tennessee) and David Clark Askins (Arizona). Cindy spent a great deal of her younger years in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1968. She was very beautiful and spent some time modeling. As a young adult, she was very much involved in the rock and roll scene and was close with members of the band The Babys. She enjoyed riding horses and tennis and being outdoors. Cindy worked as a airline stewardess for Continental Airlines for many years traveling to New Zealand and Australia. She later worked at Morning Sky School in Idyllwild, California and retired in 2017 after 20 + years with Amtrak. Cindy received frequent recognition as a great employee. She loved animals and cherished her dogs and cats. She had a green thumb for gardening. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents listed above, and paternal grandparents Herbert R. Askins and Carolyn (Hawkins) Askins and maternal grandparents Claudia (Jones) Ogden and James Garland Ogden. She is survived by a half sister Ami Askins and a half brother Michael Askins and a step daughter Sara (Vancini ) Silacci and a step son Adam Vancini. She is also survived by life long friends, Sandra and Dixie Crosby and Tony and Annette Brock. Cindy was passionate about the well being of animals. Any donations in her honor could be made to any animal shelter or The Humane Society.
