Clinton Marr Obituary
CLINTON MARR, a noted Riverside Architect, passed away at home Monday morning September 5, 2016. Clinton was born September 28, 1925 to Clinton and Luella Marr. He attended Riverside schools and after serving in the Navy and graduating from USC School of Architecture, he brought his family back to Riverside. He was preceded in death by sisters Margret Spiewak, Betty Jean Lindblad and his brother Robert Marr. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Gerry McMahan-Marr; his son Bruce; his daughter Cynthia and his grandchildren Katrina Zeeb, Patrick Bong, Shawna Reupert, Rachel Pauv, Sarah Hamilton and Hannah Pinkham and fifteen great-grandchildren who loving called him "Papa". Clinton was a member of Kiwanis, the Victoria Club, the Wine and Food Society, the Men's Breakfast Forum, the UCR Citizens Committee and the First United Methodist Church. He helped to establish the Inland Chapter of AlA and was elected into the AIA Collage of Fellows. His award winning work spans more than five decades which included residential, commercial and institutional buildings. His most notable work is the Hall of Justice building in Downtown Riverside. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 24th at 11:00am at the First United Methodist Church on Brockton. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
