He passed away on February 20, 2015 at The Village Retirement Community and Health Care Center in Hemet, California with his beloved wife, Mary, at his side. Stan was predeceased by his mother, Ella Gillespie. Stan was a track star at Fullerton High School. He graduated with honors from Indiana University. When the U.S. entered World War II, he returned to the United States, where he joined the U.S. Air Force. He served on the Pacific front as a glider pilot. Following the war, and until his retirement in 1968, he, his wife and their four children lived in South Carolina, Alabama, Texas, California, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. Stan and Mary were wed on May 7, 1994 following their meeting at the church they both attended. They happily enjoyed their years together in Kingman, Arizona and Hemet, California. The family appreciates the attention provided by Cornerstone Hospice and the staff at the Village.
